QPR ‘will have to pay a big fee for Blackburn star’

first_imgQPR will have to pay a big fee for Blackburn Rovers winger Junior Hoilett, the Daily Mirror believe.Rangers are set to seal the signing of Hoilett after seeing off competition from Newcastle and German side Borussia Monchengladbach. It is claimed Rovers boss Steve Kean has warned that his club want at least £6m for Hoilett or Jamie Mackie in exchange.Hoilett is out of contract but, at 22, cannot move on a Bosman-style free transfer so unless Blackburn accept an offer a fee will be set by a tribunal.Mackie has recently been linked with a move to Ewood Park. QPR have insisted they are not looking to offload him.The Daily Mail say Chelsea have been told they must double their bid for Robert Lewandowski, who is apparently also wanted by Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United.Chelsea are understood to have made an initial offer to Borussia Dortmund of £13m rising to £17m for the Poland striker, who has two years left on his contract. The Independent report that Chelsea have signed 17-year old centre-back Emir Dautovic from Slovenia club Maribor in a £1m deal and are set to complete the signing of 15-year-old George Brady – nephew of West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady – from Cannes. This page is regularly updated.Follow West London Sport on TwitterFind us on Facebooklast_img read more

Become a video game designer to create your own gaming site

first_imgEmbed from Getty ImagesIf you are full of interesting ideas and have some artistic flare and definitely love to play games from your childhood days, then video game designer would be the perfect gig for you. Now, if you are serious to become a video game designer, then definitely you need the complete game design training with the latest technology. To become successful in this competitive industry, it is necessary to have expert knowledge and skills about the entire game development pipeline. Whether you want to work in a major gaming studio or want to develop and publish your own website, one thing is very clear that you have to be well trained both as a programmer and as a unique and innovative creative artist. The video game development industry is still in its infancy, being less than 60 years old. So, we can say that Video game industry is an ultra-competitive field full of creative people. Companies are still testing everything to make profits and stay afloat. What a Video Game Designer Does: Video game designers mainly develop the concept of the game. In the pre–production stage of the site, video game designers come up with the rules and represent the look and feel of the website. Once the game reaches into the production stage, they build the world of the game and develop environment and all the characters from the beginning to the end in order to obtain a priceless jewel. Video game makers also develop the side quests you play to win the points.Sometimes, the job description of video game designer gets mixed up with that of the video game developer. Although they are referred interchangeably, they are quite different. Video game designers are mainly responsible for the front end designing and video game designers are responsible for back end work like the coding section. But if you want to create your own gaming site, it is essential that you would become a video game maker which includes design and development both the sections. Now, to make a game, you have to go through the 6 stages of game development – Design, Art, Code, Audio, Polish and Market.Design: Being a video game maker, if you already have a great idea, then you need to note down a design document with the details like – what makes your game idea better? What type of game ideas you have – thought provoking or a new twist in the old classic or something that has never done before? After that, also check the visual and sound effects. You can check some other sites like onlinecasinodeutschland.com.de to get better ideas about different types of online games, casinos, gambling with the graphics pixel and music idea. Write down all your ideas to go to the next step.Art: After planning the idea, you can now work on the actual game with the art of drawing under 3 basic principles of colour, shape and space. Start the designing and make the game unique by distinct colour scheme, shape, icons, font style while functional. After UI, take the help of the 2D animations and select either frame by frame or bone based animations. Also, don’t forget the tile patterned of the images with 9 slice assets and make the dimension if each asset. If you are taking help of Photoshop, use File > Export > Layers to export the layer. Code: It is an essential part of creating video game. Decide on the game engine and IDE (which is an app to let you code – Integrated Development Environment). So, learn about the coding sections of the game including data structures, C, C++, functions and exceptions, language, API (Applicable Programming Interface), Visual Studio Code and other essential coding parts from any well known educational center. If you are only the designer, then don’t hesitate to take the help of the developers to get the correct coding part.Audio: Audio in any game can do wonders for creating mood and enticement. Think about what you want to include – music, sound effects, voiceovers or narration? So, record and mix them in a smooth way so that it matches the mood of the game. Polish: It is important to bug testing your game in your PC or on all the other targeted platforms. If you found any bug, check every possible way to fix this.Market: Now, it’s the time to show your video game to others. Create your own site and place the video game on it. Game developer community is also helpful. Find News Company, magazines and email them. Publish the gaming site in different Social Networking sites and promote the game as much as possible to target the market. Animal Physics: Shocking but True

first_imgGeckos cling with electricity, and electric fish have shocking genes – just samples of recent reports about how animals master laws of physics.Electrifying feet help geckos keep their grip, an article in New Scientist says.  For the first time, researchers have found that static electricity is the dominant force in the gecko walk over the atomic van der Waal’s forces previously theorized.Scorpions are master architects at air conditioning, Science Daily reports.  Their little dens provide airflow and temperature balances that help them survive both heat and cold. At the bottom of their complex burrows, a “cool, humid chamber, where evaporation water loss is minimal, provides a refuge for the scorpions to rest during the heat of the day.”Ditto for trapdoor spiders:  Air conditioning is a specialty of trapdoor spiders, PhysOrg says about surprised scientists who found a beautifully camouflaged trapdoor in the midwest.  Some burrows can be 30 cm deep.  “By having such a deep burrow they can keep the temperature and humidity at a constant level throughout the year.”Morpho butterflies have master optics, an article in the BBC News suggests.  Researcher’s reaction to the beautiful optics of the butterfly’s structural colors, which she hopes to imitate in the lab: “You start with the small creatures you see around you and that gives you this life-long love and curiosity to pursue these interests in later life.”  The products of this bio-inspiration may be cosmetics and bomb detectors.Quick guide to peacock spiders, another colorful critter, is provided by Current Biology.  The males of this genus do colorful dances for the females, dazzling their eyes with colorful fantails of structural color.  Not only that: “specialized structures in their primary eyes have allowed them to approach the physical limit of optical resolution for their compact size.”  Want to feel inferior?  “Salticid color vision is much better than ours, more similar to that of birds, with as many as four evenly spaced channels, including a UV-sensitive photoreceptor (humans have only three and no UV sensitivity).”  The dances of these tiny spiders are both humorous and remarkable (see video on Live Science).A frog’s jump is not as simple as it seems, an article on Science Daily begins.  “Australian scientists have discovered that different species adopt different jumping styles depending on their environment.”  The shape of the frog’s pelvis plays a role in its jumping ability.Birds co-operate within a communal nest to achieve a common good, an article on PhysOrg begins.  Weaver birds in Africa build the largest communal nests of any bird.  The massive nests, able to accommodate hundreds of birds, can weigh several tons and last for decades.Scientists Find the Shocking Truth About Electric Fish, an article on NewsWise begins.  It says, “electric fish have used to convert [sic] a simple muscle into an organ capable of generating a potent electrical field.”  Science Magazine, looking into the genomics of this phenomenon, explains it by “convergent evolution of electric organs.”  Indeed, NewsWise points to a half dozen independent discoveries of electricity in fish, using the same genetic toolbox, according to the evolutionary explanation.  “Their taxonomic diversity is so great that Darwin himself cited electric fishes as critical examples of convergent evolution, where unrelated animals independently evolve similar traits to adapt to a particular environment or ecological niche.”  The evolution story, though, tends to distract attention from the amazing physics of the phenomenon.  (Another case of “extremely rapid convergent evolution” was reported in a Current Biology paper about crickets, but in this case it involved loss of function—mutated hind legs no longer able to produce sound.)When things look too good to be true, we say the devil is in the details.  When things turn out even better than they already appear to be, we should say God is in the details.  When it comes to evolutionists, both apply: God is in the detailed design of their bodies and minds, but the devil in the details of their world view. Social Media is Slowly Changing the Demographics of Political Engagement

first_imgTraditionally, political participation has always been highly correlated with income and education. According to a new report (PDF), this is still holds true for those who participate in political activities online. According to the Pew Internet & American Life Project, online users with a higher income are still far more likely to participate in political activities online than those with lower incomes. At the same time, though, the Pew study also sees some hints that new forms of civic engagement through social media services could soon change this pattern.According to this report, 31% of all users on social networking sites engage in some activity “with a civic or political focus.” Pew defines this category very broadly, though, and includes relatively simple activities like ‘friending’ a political candidate as an “activity with political focus.” In total, about 10% of all internet users have used social networks for this kind of political activity. A far more interesting statistic is that 15% of all Internet users have left comments on websites about political or social issues, or posted images or written blog posts related to politics or social issues. What is even more interesting, though not surprising, is that young adults between 18 and 29 are far more likely to use social networks as a venue for political and civic engagement than older users. These younger users who engage in political activity online are also far more likely to participate in politics offline. Social Media Might Level the Playing FieldSocial media is mostly the domain of younger Internet users and while young adults (18-24) are, as a group, less interested in political activities online, they are far more likely than any other group to use blogs and social networking sites to engage in political discussions. About 34% of young adults make political use of social networking sites and 34% post political material on the Internet. Users under 35 represent 72% of those users who make political use of social networks. In addition, the income and education gap for those who engage in political activities on social networks is far less pronounced when compared to those who use other forums. A Web Developer’s New Best Friend is the AI Wai… Tags:#politics#Trends#web Related Posts Will These Trends Continue? What will be interesting to watch, the Pew study points out, is how these younger users will use these existing networks as they get older. It will also be interesting to see if these developments will mean that socio-economic status will become less of an indicator of civic engagement, or if these new technologies will create new barriers of entry for those with a lower income and education level. Given that the US just experienced a highly contested election cycle and is in the middle of a heated debate about health care right now, we have to wonder, though, if these numbers will continue to hold true over the next few years or if they were just a blip on the radar. Maintain law and order, Supreme Court tells Punjab, Haryana

first_imgEven as Punjab denied any liability on its part to share water with Haryana, the Supreme Court on Wednesday stood firm by its decision to construct the Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal and urged the neighbouring States to maintain law and order at any cost. A Bench of Justices P.C. Ghose and Amitava Roy raised concern about violence after reports that the Indian National Lok Dal, Haryana’s main opposition party, had asked its workers to gather on Thursday at Ambala and march inside Punjab to start digging the SYL canal.Status quoThe Supreme Court’s call for status quo in the inter-State water dispute came amidst Punjab’s affidavit that the Punjab Termination of Water Agreement Act of 2004 was still in force. It argued that a recent Supreme Court verdict that declared the 2004 Act as unconstitutional was only an opinion given by the court on a presidential reference and not a verdict as such to be complied as law.Haryana, represented by senior advocate Shyam Divan, submitted that the verdict allowing the SYL canal to be built has to be executed. The court asked Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar, for the Centre, that the Union government should don the role of an arbitrator if both sides were willing to settle their dispute amicably.last_img read more
