Thiago Silva: Monaco’s plight not Henry’s fault

first_imgParis Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva said Thierry Henry is “the least guilty” for Monaco’s desperate plight after the Ligue 1 champions inflicted a 4-0 defeat upon their beleaguered rivals.Edinson Cavani scored twice in the first half and completed his hat-trick after half-time before Neymar added a fourth from the penalty spot to maintain PSG’s 100 per cent league record this season.Monaco are without a win since the opening day and Henry has picked up just one point from his four Ligue 1 games in charge since replacing Leonardo Jardim in October. Silva offered a sympathetic view of Henry’s predicament and backed the former France forward to turn the club’s season around, despite Monaco’s squad being ravaged by injuries.”Monaco’s situation is complicated,” Silva told reporters. “People talk a lot about the head coach. This makes things harder, this replenishment.”Henry is going to have a lot of work to do to get the team back on the road to winning. If I’m not mistaken he has not won yet. But he has a history in football, a winning story.”I’m sure he’ll do good things for this group and get out of this situation. But it will not be an easy situation, if I am not mistaken there are 12 injuries or more. It is a very difficult situation.”Henry was critical of his side’s failure to take the chances that fell to them when the game was in the balance but pledged to continue working hard to reverse the club’s fortunes.Monaco face a trip to Caen in Ligue 1 on November 24 after the international break, before taking on Atletico Madrid away in the Champions League four days later as they seek a first win in over three months.”We knew it was going to be hard against Paris,” said the 41-year-old. “We’re not looking for excuses.”We played against a team of another level. When they have the ball it’s not easy.”We could have put them in trouble at the beginning of the game. We had a big chance to get back to 1-1 and we didn’t even shoot.”I will continue. It has not always been easy. We must stay positive. We play the game, we do not play anything else.”last_img read more

Almost every bride that I did, went viral on social media. My Instagram page jumped from 80k to 200k in less then 4 months and the most viral bride was Sakshi Nanda, whose video which was shot by me was a huge thing everywhere. Soon major cosmetic brands started to approach me and I was soon doing masterclass for Kiko and Innisfree. I am extremely lucky to get much love and appreciation all over. Our brides get featured almost every day on the esteemed pages like Popxo, Wedding wire, Brides of India and Sabyasachiofficial. World Cup squad Rayudu Rishabh Pant out Karthik in Why Shocking reason

first_imgMS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik after guiding India to victory in Adelaide.Daniel Kalisz/Getty ImagesChief selector of Board of Control for Cricket in India, MSK Prasad, and its acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary announced India’s 15-member World Cup squad on Monday, April 15 and the unlucky names to miss out are Ambati Rayudu along with young Rishabh Pant. The direct beneficiaries in place of the left out duo are Vijay Shankar and Dinesh Karthik. Meanwhile, KL Rahul has been picked as the backup opener and Ravindra Jadeja will also be taking the flight to England given his three-dimensional ability — spinner, lower-middle order batsman and a terrific fielder. Squad: Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni, Vijay Shankar, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh KarthikAfter announcing the squad, MSK Prasad addressed the press, answering all questions regarding the spots that were up for grabs. He justified the inclusions as well as the unfortunate exclusions. “Well, it’s definitely a case where we have debated at length and all of us, in unison, felt that either Rishabh Pant or DK will only come into the playing XI if Mahi (MS Dhoni) is injured,” said MSK Prasad on the criteria for selecting the reserve wicketkeeper.  Rishabh Pant walks off after being dismissed in the first T20I.Hagen Hopkins/Getty ImagesThe chief selector went on to say that Karthik’s superior wicketkeeping ability gave him the edge of the 21-year-old Pant. “So at that juncture, it is a crucial match like the semifinal or an important game (of the World Cup), wicketkeeping also matters. So that’s the only reason why we went ahead with Dinesh Karthik, otherwise, Rishabh Pant was almost there,” MSK Prasad added. MSK Prasad addressed the number 4 debate and spoke about why Ambati Rayudu missed out. “We did give a few more chances to Rayudu but what Vijay Shankar offers is three-dimensional. Apart from his batting, he can bowl. If the conditions are suitable and overcast, he might bowl a bit; he’s a fantastic fielder. That’s the thing that went in favour of Vijay Shankar,” MSK Prasad outlined.  The entire nation will be looking up to Kohli during the World Cup.GIANLUIGI GUERCIA/AFP/Getty ImagesAddressing Vijay Shankar as a batsman who can bowl, MSK Prasad said, “We are looking at him at number 4 and we are also looking at Dinesh Karthik and Kedar Jadhav — so we have plenty of options at number 4 at the moment.” The chief selector reiterated that their preferred number 4, to begin with, will be Vijay Shankar and changes can be made if he does not perform. He also spoke about the inclusion of Ravindra Jadeja and said that the wickets will get dry as the English summer progresses wherein an extra spinner will be of help. “There might be a situation where you might require an additional all-rounder in the playing XI. In the second part of the tournament, when the wickets might be a bit drier, so that’s where we felt Jadeja might come in handy and that’s the reason why he has been picked.”last_img read more
