Saturday Heat Sheets Story Links Live Results The Bulldogs will face competitors from 16 schools including Nebraska, Nebraska-Omaha, Nebraska Wesleyan, Nebraska-Kearney, Hays State and Northwestern Missouri State. The competition is set to begin Friday at 4 p.m. with field events and preliminary heats before resuming Saturday at noon.Under the direction of second-year head coach Mark Carroll, Drake opened its indoor season last month at the Jimmy Grant Open in Iowa City, where the Bulldogs won two events against Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois State, and UNI. Junior Josh Yeager (Center Point, Iowa) won the 3000 meters, which helped lead the men’s team along with a win in the mile by Kevin Kelly (Kilcok, Ireland). Yeager led the way with a time of 8:32.15 in the 3000 meters. Lechleitner won the mile 4:09.99, with two more Bulldogs finishing in the top five. The women’s team had similar success in the 3,000 meters with Rachel Selva (Lenexa, Kan.) finishing third in 10:22.63 while Olivia Rogers (Centennial, Colo.) came in fifth.In the sprints, Kundai Maguranyanga (Glen Norah C, Zimbabwe) opened his season by taking second in the 300 meters in 33.52. Mariah Crawford (DeSoto, Texas) was fourth in the women’s section of the event.Lexie Chapman (Pekin, Ill.) made her Drake debut by finishing fourth in the women’s weight throw with a toss of 57-11 (17.65m).
