Other topics of discussion include rent increases, evictions, notices and more. The HRC is a private, nonprofit, civil rights organization dedicated to actively supporting and promoting freedom of residence through education and advocacy. Lions club hosts Christmas party WHITTIER – The East Whittier Lions Club is hosting its annual Children’s Christmas Party from 7-9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Whittier Masonic Lodge on the corner of Greenleaf Avenue and Mar Vista Street. Santa Fe Springs to light its tree SANTA FE SPRINGS – The city is hosting its annual Holiday Fest and Tree Lighting Ceremony from 3-8 p.m. Saturday at the Town Center Green, 11740 E. Telegraph Road. The tree lighting will take place at 7 p.m. There will be plenty of holiday activities to enjoy, including a craft area, train rides, a winter play area and entertainment provided by local schools. Children will be able to take a photo with Santa Claus for $2. Santa’s reindeers will also be attending the event, and children will be able to visit with them.
