Watch out for Alex Pritchard! Tottenham starlet tipped to be Premier League star

first_imgTottenham youngster Alex Pritchard is destined to be a Premier League star, according to Brentford boss Mark Warburton. The 21-year-old has been in outstanding form on loan with the Championship side this season, and Warburton is backing the diminutive midfielder to follow in the footsteps of Harry Kane and Ryan Mason and progress from academy hopeful to a senior star for Spurs.Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Warburton said: “I’ve watched Alex from a really young age in the academy system and John McDermott [the Tottenham Academy Manager] and the team at Spurs have done a fantastic job with him. “He has always been technically gifted but very small in stature so all credit to Spurs for sticking with him through the younger age groups.“I had no hesitation in bringing him to the club. Technically he is outstanding, has a great appetite for the game, he’s hungry to do well and, in my humble opinion, he is destined for the very highest level.“He can dominate a football. It doesn’t matter if you are five foot or six foot six, the fact is you have to look after the football and take care of it, and Alex excels in that area.“He wants the ball in key areas, he takes it under pressure, gets on the half-turn quickly, and all the attributes you need for the Premier League level and above, he possesses them in abundance. He has got a very bright career ahead of him.”last_img
