The Lakers characterized his departure as a casualty of dwindling minutes on a guard-heavy roster.Daniels had been a healthy scratch in five of the Lakers previous nine games as the team worked on shortening to a playoff rotation. Multiple media outlets have also reported the Lakers are set to work out Dion Waiters, a guard who played for Miami this season and was waived by Memphis after a trade, on Monday as they search for more playmaking and scoring from their backcourt.
